Moving in Berlin
Berlin has twelve boroughs. For a temporary no-parking restriction (Halteverbot) for a move, the exact street and the sign location matter. In most cases, the relevant borough’s road traffic authority (Straßenverkehrsbehörde) handles the matter; the central authority of the State of Berlin may be responsible on main roads. Some boroughs have special procedures: in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, sign installation is arranged through a specialist company; in Treptow-Köpenick, only qualified traffic safety companies (Verkehrssicherungsunternehmen) can receive orders for loading and unloading activities.
The overview below lists all twelve boroughs with official application guidance, local details and the relevant contact points. Where available, borough pages also describe neighbourhoods, parking management and the approximate road distance from our Berlin office to the borough administration. Distances are for orientation only and do not indicate travel time. Before applying, check the current instructions from the responsible authority: the permit, sourcing traffic signs and installing them on time are separate steps. Paradiso Umzüge is based in Berlin and carries out moves across the city’s boroughs.
